Textron Aviation Inc., the leading general aviation authority, today announced it has selected California Aeronautical University for the 2018 Top Hawk program. California Aeronautical University (CAU) will take delivery of a new, custom branded Cessna Skyhawk 172 to support flight training, university recruiting efforts and promotional activities throughout the year.
“Here at California Aeronautical University, we’re honored to have been selected as a Top Hawk university,” said Matthew Johnston, California Aeronautical University President. “This is a huge milestone, especially for Kern County and for aviation in California. Being a Top Hawk university will amplify our efforts to promote aviation to the next generation of pilots and help address the growing need of employable aviators in the industry.”
The Top Hawk program is a partnership between Textron Aviation and top university aviation schools to provide students with access to the world’s most popular trainer, the Cessna® Skyhawk®, and provide unique internship opportunities with the world’s leading general aviation manufacturer.

Delivery of the custom branded, Cessna Skyhawk 172 to California Aeronautical University will take place in February 2018.
